Available all year round, but often favoured for short breaks outside of high season, our bothies offer a private and cosy experience for those wanting to explore the treasures of the Lake District scenery.
The snug mezzanine style bedroom complements the simple layout of the living area, which overlooks the secluded walled garden.
Once the tool and potting sheds for Patterdale Hall Estate’s market garden, these converted bothies ooze charm and character.
Crock Boy’s Bothy
Originally our potting shed, Crock Boys is now a beautiful Bothy for your lake district adventure. Located in the original walled garden.
Gardener’s Bothy
As the name suggests, this was previously an outbuilding in our market garden. Now offering cosy lake district breaks.

Enter from cobbled frontage through lovely Stable door.
Kitchen – Enter into a compact cottage kitchen with a wonderful view of the old Market Garden. Well-equipped cooking space.
Living Room – Airy tall ceiling & original beams, looking up to bed space. HDTV & DVD, Electric stove. Sofa bed in case of extra occupants. A couples dining table.
Bedroom – Up the stairs from the living space and you’ll find our compact sleeping in the eaves. Bed on floor
Bathroom – Bathroom with walk-in shower.
Outside – Shared lawns and estate grounds
- Access – Bothies are both on the ground – so one step in.
- Garden/grounds – They are found on a communal lawn, you have your own private deck and barbeque space.
- Parking – provided for up to two cars per property in a central car park.
- WIFI – All properties benefit from their own wifi network
- Firepit – All properties are able to use the separate picnic area with a communal firepit.
- No pets – Apologies, all the Chalets are pet-free. (see Lishman House or Lakeview Lodges for our pet-friendly accommodation).
- All properties have use of our on-site Launderette.
Our properties are equipped to be lived in – from a veggie peeler to a wall map of the lakes, it’s all there. By all means, get in touch if you need anything in particular.
So now all you need to bring is your suitcase, yourself… and a sense of adventure.
We provide fully made beds and towels for all.
We’ll even throw in one complimentary toilet roll to get you through the first day!
