Volunteer with us

We are always looking for extra support from volunteers, especially during the off-season.

From clearing local woodland to helping out around the office, we have a number of exciting volunteering opportunities available all year round.

A large portion of the Estate is cared for by our tenant farmer, but there is still plenty of conservation and habitat regeneration work to do in our extensive woodland, to ensure that wildlife can thrive.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life but share a passion for getting outdoors in the Lake District, for wildlife, and for habitat conservation. Many volunteers return to us year on year and have become part of the Estate’s extended family of loyal supporters. All want to ensure that the beauty of the area is preserved and enhanced for the enjoyment of all.
